Hotel

BAR MEALS

Bar meals are available on request and a choice of snacks is available (see menu in bar).

BEAN’S  BAR

A perfect setting to meet friends or colleagues and enjoy an informal drink. We offer a full range of spirits, chilled wines and Champagnes by the glass and pride ourselves on our range of bottled beers. Our range of Rum reflects the origins of the Hotel as the former home of James Bean a Jamaican plantation manager.

BLANKETS
Additional supplies are available should you prefer them.

BUSINESS SERVICES
Typing, photocopying, faxes, e-mail and courier services are all available via the business centre in reception. The Business Centre is open from 9.00am to 9.00pm each weekday, within the reception office.

BREAKFAST

Start your day with a breakfast - whether it's light and healthy, - fresh fruit, cereals and juices, or a more traditional full Yorkshire breakfast - freshly cooked and served piping hot at your table. We use local ingredients where possible. The Bacon & Sausage from East Yorkshire Pork, The eggs local free range, the marmalades & jams from Smedley in Ripon.

Served: Monday to Friday 7.00am to 8.30am Saturday, Sunday & Bank Holidays 8.30am to 9:30 am. Room service also available.

CHILDREN
Children's meals are available at normal meal times. A high chair is available in the dining room.
Many games, jigsaws, DVD’s are available. A listening service via monitors in the room can be provided.

CAR PROBLEMS?
Reception keeps a stock of de-icer and jump leads, plus details of the nearest garage for petrol or repairs.
A valet service for your car can also be organised by the hotel.

Ceremonies

We are licensed for civil ceremonies and play host to a range of functions, such as weddings, naming and citizenship. Please let us know your requirements and we’ll provide the service. 

CHECK OUT
Normal check out time is 11.OOam.
If you wish to delay your departure please contact Reception.

We are pleased to accept most major credit cards and personal cheques when supported by a valid Bankers card. Other credit arrangements should be confirmed in advance with Reception. Long stay guests should settle their account on a weekly basis or when the balance exceeds £300.

CONFERENCE FACILITIES
There is a wide range of meeting and conference facilities in the hotel.
Please ask us if you would like to view any of the rooms or discuss a future event you may be planning.

COMPLAINTS AND COMPLIMENTS
Please do let us know if there is anything that we can do to make your stay more enjoyable. Your feedback is invaluable to us in updating our service, you'll find a comment card in your room, or alternatively ask for the Duty Manager at Reception, or Bar.

DINNER

Each evening you can enjoy the relaxed surroundings of the Dining room, or for larger parties the restaurant. 

6.00pm to 7.30pm.

Reservations may be made in the Bar or by calling Reception. This service needs to be pre-booked and is not always available. There is no dress code in the Restaurant.
Limited Room service is also available between 7:00am to 11:00pm, see the snack menu in the bar.

DOCTOR
The hotel can provide details on local doctors & dentists.

ENTERTAINMENT

For parties of 8 or more we can organise a murder mystery evening. If your party wants a sing-song, we have a karaoke system. A grand Piano, electric Keyboards, and various other instruments are also available (subject to other guests experiences)

We can arrange a cinema evening with a film of your choice, or a classic from our library.

EARLY MORNING CALLS
Please contact reception to place your call.

FIRE

For your peace of mind and safety the hotel is equipped throughout with smoke detectors and fire alarms. Please read the Fire notice which is displayed on the back of your bedroom door.

If you are hard of hearing, or will require assistance in the case of evacuation, please let Reception know.

If you discover a fire contact Reception immediately.

FLOWERS / Chocolates
Please contact reception who can arrange these on your behalf.

GAMES ROOM

Our Pool table (50p) and Table tennis are available in the games room.

HAIRDRYER

You will find a hairdryer conveniently located in a drawer, next to a mirror in your room. If you have difficulty locating the hairdryer, dial 0

Whirlpool

The Whirlpool bath is available only to guests staying in room 4. It is located at the far end of the first floor opposite room 2.

KEY

Please carry your key with you for access to the Hotel after 11:00pm.  Please leave your key at Reception when you leave the hotel. The key to the games room if locked may be obtained from reception.

LAUNDRY AND DRY CLEANING

Same day laundry and dry cleaning services are available Monday to Saturday (excluding Bank Holidays). Please call Reception before 9.00am for collection. An iron and ironing board are available, please contact Reception.

LOCAL INFORMATION
If you need any details of the local area please contact Reception.

LOST PROPERTY
Please call Reception if you should find or lose any personal belongings.

MAIL
There is a regular mail collection from the hotel. Stamps can be purchased and parcels posted at Reception.

MESSAGES
If you are expecting a telephone call whilst in the restaurant, bar or games room. please let Reception know and they will forward your call for you.

MODEM
You can use the telephone socket in your room - please remember to place '99' in front of your phone number. Alternatively the Hotel has a wireless network, software & adaptors are available through reception.

MORNING COFFEE & AFTERNOON TEA

Served in the Bar/Lounge all day with a daily selection of pastries and home cooked treats.

NEWSPAPERS
If you require a paper, please let Reception know which paper you require.

ONWARD TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS
We would be pleased to help with reservations or tickets for rail, air, car hire, ferries or taxis.

ROOM TEMPERATURE

The temperature of your room is controlled by the individual thermostat control on the radiator. To increase the temperature in your room turn the thermostat clockwise. To decrease the temperature turn the thermostat anti / counter –clockwise

SECURITY

There is a safety deposit facility at Reception.

 SEWING KIT AND SHOE SHINE CLOTH

Both are available in your bathroom. A cleaning machine is available near reception.

Smoking

Smoking is not allowed anywhere within the hotel building - including bedrooms.

TELEPHONE
Your room phone can be used for both external and internal calls. Dial 99 for an outside line. Local calls are charged at 10p per minute.

TOILETRIES

If you have forgotten any toiletries, Reception do keep a range of essentials.

TROUSER PRESS

A trouser press is located adjacent to or inside your wardrobe.

VOLTAGE

The electrical current is 240 volts, standard British 3 rectangular pins.
A shaver socket is in the bathroom.
